FACTSnet: Dialogues Networks That Make a Difference:

FACTSnet prides itself on its ability to promote and encourage open and fluid communication towards building informative resource based networks. With a skilled group of people working together, from all different backgrounds, we conduct large conversations, listen to what needs to be done, and implement accordingly. As a community based group, we also encourage others to input into our networks (see FACTSnet Index) and provide us with direction on what is wanted. Through open face to face dialogue, technological communication, and research initiatives, we hope to provide long lasting and productive dialogue networks, that make a difference. (see Participation in FACTSnet Blogs)
For a history of our community dialogue formats see Towards Generative Community Dialogue

History:

FACTSnet was founded by FACTS (Family And Community Twining Society).  FACTSnet emphases the twining as we bring people and organizations together (One strand at a time) to form networks (ropes) that are stronger than us working separately.  FACTSnet is designed for other organizations to partner with us and sponsor various blogs.  To learn more about partners and sponsors see Factsnet Contact Index and  FACTSnet Sponsor Index.

ABOUT Powered by CIN  The template and other technologies behind FACTSnet has been developed by (CIN) Collaborative Information Networks, which is a major sponsor of FACTSnet.

FACTSnet is a network of "Dialogue Networks" (See About FACTSnet and FACTSnet Index) maintained by FACTS (Family & Community Twining Society), supported by other organizations participating in these networks and developed and facilitated by Collaborative Information Networks.  Anyone can participate in these networks by collaborating with others in the network.

Introducing FACTSnet Archive

Introducing FACTSnet

FACTS (Family & Community Twining Society) is a society whose mission and goals are to use the Internet as a tool for encouraging development and use of value-based media in community network development. Groups that are served by FACTS include the elderly, schools, religious groups, immigrant groups, First Nations, and other visible minorities. FACTS also recognizes the trend in information exchange and has made its mandate to facilitate dialogue in various forms and the use of the Internet as a value-based medium. Towards this end, FACTS has established a network of weblogs ("blogs") through the Google-based Blogger service. Collectively known as FACTSnet, these blogs number approximately a hundred, and each is tailored to a specific target demographic - examples include Stony Plain Heritage, Alberta Social Studies (Grade 8), etc. Through the use of these blogs, FACTS aims to bring a sense of collegiality to said networks for the betterment of education, quality of life, and community.

FACTS and Société de Tourisme Centralta (STC) are founding organization of FACTSnet. STC engages in the histories and heritage of such Alberta landmarks as St. Albert, Morinville, etc. and is partnering in FACTSnet with its own collection of weblogs geared towards the French community.
